Running Behind or Right On Time?

Do you feel like you’re running behind?

Laundry not done.

Deadlines at work clicking closer.

We won’t talk about the kids.

It’s almost Thanksgiving and turkey? Still frozen.

Full of gratitude and grace?

More like full of griping and gloom.

Oh and… I’m currently a week and a few days behind in daily bible reading.

But apparently……I’m not.

I was reading Matthew 26 & Mark 14.

Jesus. His Disciples. A Passover Meal. Their Last Supper.

Before I could fully spin into my usual Thanksgiving Supper mode,

And ask my family, it can be…usually is… the OPPOSITE of thankful,

God stopped me.

God had something He wanted to show me today.

He stopped me with a reminder of something I should be more thankful for:

Their Last Supper.

In the course of their meal, having taken and blessed the bread, he broke it and gave it to them. Then he said,

Take, this is my body.

Taking the chalice, he gave it to them, thanking God, and they all drank from it. He said,

This is my blood,
God’s new covenant,
Poured out for many people.

Mark 14:22-24 The Message

Maybe you’re NOT running behind.

Maybe you’re exactly where you need to be to hear what God has to say.

Are you listening?

“The Lord’s Supper is the best feast we’ll eat this side of eternity. It’s the most privileged meal in the universe.” Taraleigh Cobble The Bible Recap
