Running Behind or Right On Time?

Running Behind?

Do you feel like you’re running behind?

Oh and… I’m currently a week and a few days behind in daily bible reading.

But apparently……I’m not.

I was reading Matthew 26 & Mark 14.

Jesus. His Disciples. A Passover Meal. The Last Supper.

Before I could fully spin into my usual Thanksgiving Supper mode,

which can be…

usually is…

the OPPOSITE of thankful,

(Ask my family to show them their emotional scars 😉.)

God stopped me.

He stopped me with a reminder of something I should be the most thankful for:

The Last Supper.

Their Last Supper.

In the course of their meal, having taken and blessed the bread, he broke it and gave it to them. Then he said,

Take, this is my body.

Taking the chalice, he gave it to them, thanking God, and they all drank from it. He said,

This is my blood,
God’s new covenant,
Poured out for many people.

Mark 14:22-24 The Message

Jesus knew it was their last supper together. They did not.

We THINK we know what we’re going to do on any given day but how many times is there an unexpected hiccup that puts you behind in your schedule?

Maybe you’re NOT running behind.

Maybe you’re exactly where you need to be to hear what God has to say.

Are you listening?

A great reminder that God has his own time schedule for us. We left for a family vacation today and left 45 minutes behind schedule (my schedule) only to arrive at our destination at the right time to meet our kids and start a great thanksgiving trip!! Thank you for the reminder that God has his own time schedule for us.
